Introduction

The Stage Position Measurement (SPM) department within the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for interferometer and encoder based sub-nanometer position measurement systems for, a.o., wafer stages and reticle stages. We are looking for a Product Owner to lead a team of expert engineers to secure all deliverables are executed as planned. 

Role and Responsibilities

The product owner leads a team of highly skilled experts (MSc/PhD level) and ensures clarity on the work package for the team. Therefore, the product owner aligns with both the team itself and all stake holders to ensure that the right priorities are set and that the work package for the team is realistic, such that the team will deliver as expected. This is done in quarterly plannings, but also on a day-to-day basis as new tasks or escalations may pop up. Therefore, the product owner needs to have an eye for the business needs as well as the human aspects within the team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • You will have end-to-end ownership of team deliverables.
  • You balance long-term and short-term priorities from different stakeholders in cooperation with other (Chief) Product Owners while ensuring support and buy-in from the team.
  • You will manage team deliverables, risks, dependencies, change, and escalations.
  • You are able to slice the work into smaller valuable pieces in close collaboration with the team.
  • You prepare the teamwork for the upcoming weeks and ensures its properly prioritized for the next iterations.
  • You create long term vision and roadmap, translating stakeholder and team needs into PI objectives and Iteration goals.
  • You effectively communicates with stakeholders on their needs and concerns, align with stakeholders on vision, content and prioritization. You maintain a trusted partnership with the team and key stakeholders in the train.
  • You consistently keep an economic view on the long term team backlog to meet objectives. You challenge guardrails, while balancing high impact, early feedback and low cost over time. You are comfortable in either the business or the technical domain. Finally - you can motivate the team to pull work from the backlog.

Education and experience

  • Master degree mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or physics.
  • 5-7 years in engineering and comprehensive experience as Product Owner and working at tactical level.
  • Good product/domain knowledge; likely through experience as SME, Senior Engineer or Lead Engineer.
  • Project management experience – has been the lead for at least 3 years with team size of 10 or more people.
  • People management skills – Has experience in balancing personal and development needs with driving for deliveries.
